Day-30 Class 6-9 We Love Reading: తెలుగు కథ : సోమరితనం.. హాం ఫట్‌!

ఒక ఊరిలో ఒక ఎద్దు ఉంది. దానికి పని పాటా లేదు. ఎక్కడో చోట తింటూ.. నిద్రపోతూ ఉంటుంది. అయితే దానికి ఆహారం, డబ్బు ఉచితంగా ఇవ్వాలి.

దానికి నిధులంటే పిచ్చి. ఒక రోజు ఉదయం ఓ కాగితం కనిపించింది. దానికి మెరుపుల స్టిక్టర్లున్నాయి.

‘పర్వతం దగ్గర సమంగా చేస్తే నిధి దొరుకుతుంద’ని అందులో రాసి ఉంది. అది ఎవరికీ చూపించకుండా ఎగుడుదిగుడు నేలను చూస్తూ పర్వతం దగ్గర ఉండే గుట్టను తవ్వాలనుకున్నాడు. అసలే సోమరి..

ఈపని చేస్తుంటే ఇపుడే తరిగేట్లు లేదనుకున్నాడు. వెంటనే తన మిత్రుడు ఎలుగుబంటి గురించి ‘పర్వతం దగ్గర తవ్వాల’ని అన్నాడంతే. ‘కుదరదు’ అన్నది ఎలుగు.

అపుడు నిధి రహస్యం చెప్పాడు. అసలే ఆశపోతు అయిన ఎలుగు వెంటనే సరే అన్నాడు. ‘దీన్ని తవ్వుదాం. నిధి దొరక్కపోతే మర్చిపోదాం.

పైగా మనకు మంచి పేరొస్తుంది’ అన్నది ఎద్దు. ఆ లాజిక్‌కు సర్‌ప్రైజ్‌ అయ్యింది ఎలుగు. ఉదయాన్నే ఇద్దరూ పనిముట్లతో గుట్టను తవ్వటం ఆరంభించారు.

ఇలా వారం రోజుల్లో సమంగా ఆ పర్వతం దగ్గర ఉండే గుట్టను తవ్వాడు. దారి ఏర్పడింది. చివరి రోజు సాయంత్రం.. వెనకనుంచి ఎవరో నవ్వారు.

చూస్తే కుందేలు కనపడింది. తెగ నవ్వుతోంది. ‘విషయం చెప్పమ’ని అడిగారు ఇద్దరూ.

‘నేను ఆ కాగితాన్ని మీ ఇంటి దగ్గర వేసింది నేనే’ అన్నది కుందేలు. ‘ఎందుకూ?’ అని అడిగారిద్దరూ. ‘మీరు సోమరుల్లా ఉంటే.. అందరూ నవ్వుతున్నారు.

మీతో పని చేయించి ఈ దారి ఏర్పడేట్లు చేస్తే అందరూ సంతోషిస్తారు కదా’ అన్నది కుందేలు.

ఎద్దు, ఎలుగు ముఖాలు చూసుకున్నారు. ఆ తర్వాత వెంటనే ఓ గిఫ్టు ఇచ్చింది కుందేలు. ఇద్దరూ దానివైపు చూశారు. ‘ఇందులో ముప్ఫయి వేలు ఉన్నాయి’ అన్నది కుందేలు.

ఇద్దరూ సంతోషపడ్డారు. ఇంకో నిధి ఉంది.. దానికి మీరు రెండు రోజుల్లో రెడీ అవ్వాలి. దాని వెల యాభై వేల రూపాయలన్నది కుందేలు.

ఇద్దరూ ముక్తకంఠంతో ‘రేపటి రోజే పని చేయటానికి రెడీ. లేకుంటే సోమరులమవుతాం’ అన్నది ఎద్దు. అందరూ పకపకా నవ్వారు.
