Day-12 Class 3-5 We Love Reading: తెలుగు నీతి కథ : కాకి గర్వం
అనగనగా ఓ చిట్టడవిలో కాకి ఒకటి ఉండేది. అది తనంత ఎత్తులో ఎవరూ ఎగరలేరని మిడిసి
పడుతుండేది.
ఓ రోజు కాకికి ఏమీ ఉబుసుపోక అటువైపుగా ఎగురుతూ వెళుతున్న పిచ్చుకని ఆపి 'నీకు కనీసం అందంగా ఎగరడం కూడా వచ్చినట్టు లేదు... ఏదో పురుగు గెంతి నట్టే ఉంది!' అని వేళాకోళమాడింది.
ఆ మాటలకి పిచ్చుకకి కోపం వచ్చి 'నేను నీలాగే ఎగరాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. ఎవరి సామర్థ్యం వాళ్లది!' అంది.
'అయితే నాతో పందెం కాసి నీ సామర్థ్యంతో నన్ను ఓడించు చూద్దాం!' అంది కాకి. దానికి పిచ్చుక ఒప్పుకుంది.
అక్కడున్న మిగతా చిన్న పక్షులన్నీ న్యాయనిర్ణేతగా ఉంటామన్నాయి. 'ఇప్పుడు మనం ఉన్న మద్ది చెట్టుతో మొదలుపెట్టి మధ్యలో ఉన్న రావిచెట్టూ, ఆ తర్వాతొచ్చే జడలమర్రిని దాటుకుని మళ్లీ ఇక్కడికే రావాలి. ముందొచ్చేవాళ్లే విజేత!' అని ప్రకటించాయి.
పందెం మొదలైందో లేదో కాకి సర్రున రావిచెట్టుని దాటి మర్రిమానులోకి దూసుకెళ్లింది. ఆ జడల మర్రి చాలా పెద్దది... లెక్కలేనన్ని ఊడలతో దట్టంగా ఉంటుంది. దాంతో రెక్కలు రెండూ సన్నటి ఊడలమధ్య చిక్కుకు పోయాయి.
అది బాధతో అల్లాడి పోయింది. పిచ్చుక సన్నగా చిన్నగా ఉండటంవల్ల కొమ్మల్లోకి దూరి ఆకుల మధ్య ఖాళీ చేసుకుంటూ బయటకొచ్చి గమ్యస్థానానికి చేరుకుని విజేతగా నిలిచింది.
పిచ్చుక కోరిక మేరకు వడ్రంగిపిట్ట ఒకటి వచ్చి ఊడల్ని మెల్లగా తొలిచి వాటిల్లో ఇరుక్కున్న కాకిని కాపాడింది.
దాంతో ప్రకృతిలో ఎవరూ ఎక్కువ తక్కువ కాదని తెలుసుకున్న కాకి మరెప్పుడూ గర్వపడలేదు... ఎవర్నీ చిన్నబుచ్చలేదు

The Needle TreeTwo brothers lived near a forest. The elder brother was very bad for the younger brother – he
would finish all the food and put on all the new clothes of his younger brother.
One day, the elder brother decided to go to the forest to get some firewood and sell it in the market. As he walked around, cutting trees and plants, he hit a magical tree.
The tree said, “O kind sir, please don’t cut my branches. If you leave me, I will give you apples of gold.” He agreed, but was disappointed by the number of apples the tree had given him.
As greed got over him, he threatened the tree that he would cut off the entire trunk if he didn’t give him any more apples.
Magical tree, Instead, the elder brother rained down on hundreds and hundreds of tiny needles.
As the sun went down, the elder brother lay down on the ground moaning in pain.
The younger brother was worried and so he went in search of his elder brother.
He found her lying in pain near a tree with hundreds of needles on her body. He ran to his brother and removed each needle lovingly and gently.
After he finished, the elder brother apologized for ill-treating him and promised to get better. The tree saw a change in the elder brother’s heart and gave him all the golden apples he would ever need.
Moral of the Story It is important to be kind and gracious, as it will always be rewarded.
