Day-18 Class 6-9 We Love Reading: తెలుగు కథ : కోతి కోరిక & పజిల్
ఒక ఊరికి చివర ఉండే చెట్టుతొర్రలో ఓ రామచిలుక నివసించేది. దానికి ముగ్గురు పిల్లలు. తన పిల్లలతో కలసి సంతోషంగా ఆడుతూ పాడుతూ ఉండేది. తిండిని తీసుకువచ్చి ప్రేమతో తినిపించేది. తను పస్తులుండేది.
ఒక రోజు చిలుక అడవికి పోయింది. ఇంటికి తిరిగి వస్తూనే.. చెట్టుతొర్రలో పిల్లలు లేవు. ఇది చూసి కంగారు పడింది. ఏడ్చింది. దారింటా.. తన పిల్లలు ఎవరైనా చూశారా? అని అడుగుతూ ఆ తల్లి విలపించింది. ఎవరూ తెలీదన్నారు.
ఓ చెట్టుమీద కూర్చుని బాధపడుతూంటే చిలుక దగ్గరకు మెల్లగా పావురం వచ్చింది. ఎందుకు ఏడుస్తున్నావు? ధైర్యంగా నీ పిల్లలను వెతుకు అన్నది ఆ పావురం. ‘నీకెలా తెలుసు’ అన్నది చిలుక. ‘నేను చూశా. ఓ వ్యక్తి వచ్చి మీ మూడు పిల్లలను బుట్టలో వేసుకుని తీసుకెళ్లాడు.
ఓ చెట్టుమీద కూర్చుని బాధపడుతూంటే చిలుక దగ్గరకు మెల్లగా పావురం వచ్చింది. ఎందుకు ఏడుస్తున్నావు? ధైర్యంగా నీ పిల్లలను వెతుకు అన్నది ఆ పావురం. ‘నీకెలా తెలుసు’ అన్నది చిలుక. ‘నేను చూశా. ఓ వ్యక్తి వచ్చి మీ మూడు పిల్లలను బుట్టలో వేసుకుని తీసుకెళ్లాడు.
నేను పోరాడినా ఫలితం లేకపోయింది అన్నది. ఎంత మంచి మనసు నీది.. అంటూ చిలుక భోరున విలపించింది.
ఇలా మీనమేషాలు లెక్కేస్తే ఉపయోగం లేదు. ఎవరైనా సాయం తీసుకో అన్నది. రెండూ కలసి తిరిగిన ఎవరూ జాడ తెలీదన్నారు. పావురానికి ఓ ఆలోచన వచ్చింది. ఇక్కడ బంటీ అనేకోతి ఉంటుంది. దానికి అన్నీ తెలుసు అన్నది.
ఆ కోతి దగ్గరకు వెళ్లి అడిగారు. ‘నాకేమీ తెలీదు. మీ పిల్లలను వెతకటం సాధ్యం కానిది’ అంటూ చెప్పాడు. దయచేసి వెతకండి. మీకు తెలీనిదేముంది.. అంటూ బతిమలాడాయి. సరే అన్నది కోతి. ‘మా పిల్లలు దొరికితే ఏ సాయమైన చేస్తా’ అన్నది చిలుక.
కోతి క్షణాల్లో చెట్లమీద ఎగురుతూ పోయింది. ఆ అడవినుంచి చిలుక పిల్లలను తీసుకెళ్లి ఎవరైనా సరే దగ్గరపట్టణంలోకి వెళతారు కదా? అనుకుంది కోతి. అలానే వెళ్లింది పట్టణానికి. అక్కడ జంతువుల సంతకు వెళ్లింది.
అక్కడ ఓ వ్యక్తి చిలుక పిల్లలు అమ్ముతుంటే కోతి మీదకు ఎగిరి గాయపరచి.. ఆ పక్షుల పంజరాన్ని లాక్కొచ్చింది. చిలుక ఇంటి దగ్గరకు తీసుకొచ్చింది. ఇది కలా? నిజమా? అని పొంగిపోయింది చిలుక. ఎక్కడ ఎలాంటి పండ్లు తేవాలన్నా తెస్తా అన్నది చిలుక.
‘ఏమీ వద్దు. నేను తెచ్చుకోగలను. దయచేసి ఏ పండునూ కొరికి కింద వేయకు. దాని వల్ల పండు ఎవరికీ ఉపయోగపడదు. ఎవరూ తినకుండా మట్టిలో పోతుంది.
అందుకే ఏ పండ్లనూ కొరకద్దు అంటూ కోరింది. ఆ కోరిక విన్న తర్వాత చిలుక సరేనన్నది. మంచి ఆలోచన. మా తర్వాత తరాలకు చెబుతానని చెప్పింది

A king had a large number of slaves. One of them was very black. He was true to the king. So the king loved him greatly.
One day the king went out on a camel. Some slaves walked in front of the king. Others went behind the king. The black slave rode on a horse by the side of his master – The King.
The King had a box. There were pearls in it. On the way the box fell down in a narrow street. It broke into pieces. The pearls rolled on the ground.
The king said to his slaves. “Go and take the pearls. I do not want them any longer," said the king.
The slaves ran and gathered the pearls. They took those pearls. The black slave did not leave his place.
He was by the side of his master. He guarded his master. He cared for the life of his master. He did not care for the master’s pearls. He was the true servant.
The king observed the attitude of the servant and gave him many gifts.
