Day-45 Class 3-5 We Love Reading: తెలుగు కథ : పనే బంగారం
ఒక రైతుకు ఇద్దరు కొడుకులు. అందులో పెద్దోడేమో చెడ్డవాడు. వానికి ఆశ చాలా ఎక్కువ. దాంతో పాటు పెద్ద సోమరి. ఇక్కడ పుల్ల తీసి అక్కడ పెట్టే రకం గాదు.
చిన్నోడు చాలా మంచోడు. పెద్దవాళ్ళు చెప్పినట్టు నడుచుకునేవాడు. వాళ్ళ నాన్నకు పొలం పనుల్లో బాగా సాయపడేవాడు.
వాళ్ళ నాన్న చనిపోయాక పెద్దోడు చిన్నోనితో గొడవ పెట్టుకున్నాడు. నాన్న సంపాదించిన ఇల్లూ, ఇరవై ఎకరాల పొలమూ తనదేనని కట్టె తీసుకొని కొట్టడానికి వచ్చాడు. చిన్నోడు చిరునవ్వుతో “అన్నా.. నువ్వే ఎక్కువ తీసుకో. పరవాలేదు.
కానీ నాకు నాలుగెకరాల పొలం, రెండు ఎద్దులు ఐనా ఇవ్వు. మరలా నీ జోలికి రాను" అన్నాడు. పెద్దోడు సంబరంగా సరేనని ఒప్పుకొని మిగిలినదంతా తన పేర రాయించుకున్నాడు.
చిన్నోడు మొదటి నుంచీ పని చేసే రకం గదా... దాంతో పొలం పక్కనే ఓ చిన్న కొట్టమేసుకొన్నాడు. పని చేసేవాని చేతిలో మట్టి గూడా బంగారం అవుతుందంట గదా... అలా చిన్నోని చేతిలో పంట విరగబడి కాసేది.
అలా కొంతకాలానికే చేతి నిండా డబ్బులు గలగలలాడాయి. పొలం పక్కనే మరో ఇరవై ఎకరాలు కొనేశాడు. మంచి ఇల్లు కట్టుకొని హాయిగా పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నాడు.
చిన్నోడు మొదటి నుంచీ పని చేసే రకం గదా... దాంతో పొలం పక్కనే ఓ చిన్న కొట్టమేసుకొన్నాడు. పని చేసేవాని చేతిలో మట్టి గూడా బంగారం అవుతుందంట గదా... అలా చిన్నోని చేతిలో పంట విరగబడి కాసేది.
అలా కొంతకాలానికే చేతి నిండా డబ్బులు గలగలలాడాయి. పొలం పక్కనే మరో ఇరవై ఎకరాలు కొనేశాడు. మంచి ఇల్లు కట్టుకొని హాయిగా పెళ్ళి చేసుకున్నాడు.
పెద్దాడు విందులు, వినోదాలలో కాలం గడపడం మొదలుపెట్టాడు. కూచొని తింటే కొండలైనా కరిగిపోతాయంటారు. అలా పొలము, ఇల్లూ అన్నీ కొన్ని రోజులకే కరిగిపోయాయి. దాంతో వీధిన పడ్డాడు.
అంతవరకూ చుట్టూ చేరినవారు ఛీ కొట్టసాగారు. దాంతో ఎవరికీ ముఖం చూపించలేక బావిలో దుంకబోయాడు.
అప్పుడే అటువైపు వచ్చిన చిన్నోడు అది చూశాడు. పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ వచ్చి పెద్దోని చేయి పట్టుకున్నాడు. “రేయ్... నిన్ను మోసం చేసినందుకు దేవుడు తగిన బుద్ధి చెప్పాడు" అంటూ కళ్ళనీళ్ళు పెట్టుకొన్నాడు పెద్దోడు.
చిన్నోడు నవ్వి “అన్నా... కొట్టుకున్నా, తిట్టుకున్నా, ఎవరు ఏమనుకున్నా మనం అన్నదమ్ములం. నీ సంతోషమే నా సంతోషం. నువ్వు ఏమీ అనుకోకపోతే నాకు భాగంగా అప్పుడిచ్చిన నాలుగెకరాలు,
రెండెద్దులు తిరిగి నువ్వు తీసుకో. ఒళ్ళు వంచి పని చేసి పోయిన పరువు నిలబెట్టుకో" అన్నాడు.
ఆ రోజు నుంచీ పెద్దోడు తమ్మునిలాగానే ఒళ్ళోంచి పని చేశాడు. నాలుగెకరాలను నలభై ఎకరాలు చేసి వూరందరి చేత “శభాష్" అనిపించుకొన్నాడు.

A farmer had two sons. The elder one was lazy and not very helpful, but the younger one was kind and hardworking. After their father passed away, the elder son wanted to take all the land and farm for himself, causing a dispute with the younger one.
The younger son, proposed a fair solution. He asked for four acres of land and two bullocks, saying he wouldn't bother his brother again. The elder son agreed, and the rest of the land became his.
The younger son being a diligent worker, built a small hut near the farm. Just as a worker turns clay into gold, he successfully cultivated and harvested crops on his land. With his hard work, he earned some money, bought an additional twenty acres, built a good house, and got married.
Meanwhile, the elder son squandered his inheritance on feasts and entertainments, losing everything in a short time. Depressed and ashamed, he fell on the street.
The younger son passing by, saw his brother in distress and reached out to help. The younger son said, "Brother, your happiness is mine. If you don't mind, take back the four acres I got. Let's rebuild our dignity together."
From that day forward, the elder son worked hard like younger son. With the four acres, he expanded his land to forty acres, earning respect and admiration from everyone.
