Day-27 Class 6-9 We Love Reading: తెలుగు కథ : చిట్టి జీవి.. గట్టి సాయం!
చిట్టి జీవి.. గట్టి సాయం!ఒక అడవిలో సింహముండేది. అది వేటాడేప్పుడు ఎండిన కొమ్మమీద పడి పెద్ద గాయం తగిలింది. ఆ తర్వాత మెల్లమెల్లగా చిక్కిశక్యలమైంది. సన్నబడ్డాక మరణించింది. ఆ తర్వాత యువ సింహం ఆ అడవికి రాజుగా ప్రకటించుకుంది.
ఒక అడవిలో సింహముండేది. అది వేటాడేప్పుడు ఎండిన కొమ్మమీద పడి పెద్ద గాయం తగిలింది. ఆ తర్వాత మెల్లమెల్లగా చిక్కిశక్యలమైంది. సన్నబడ్డాక మరణించింది.
ఆ తర్వాత యువ సింహం ఆ అడవికి రాజుగా ప్రకటించుకుంది. అసలే రారాజు. తన గాండ్రింపులు వింటే చాలు జంతువులన్నీ దూరంగా పరిగెత్తేవి.
ఆకుల మధ్య దాక్కునేవి. సహజంగా సింహరాజులో ఉండే ధైర్యం, విశ్వాసం చూసి మిగిలిన జంతువులన్నీ ‘గర్విష్టి, పొగరుబోతు, అధికారం’ అని తిట్టుకుంటున్నాయి. అయితే ఈ యువసింహం మంచి మనసున్నది.
ప్రాణాలొడ్డయినా సరే అడవిని కాపాడుకోవాలనే ఆశయం ఉన్న రాజు.
యువరాజు కాలంలో అన్నీ బావుండేవి. జంతువులన్నీ హాయిగా సంచరించేవి. ఒక రోజు సింహం చెట్టుకింద నిద్రపోతోంది. ఒక చిట్టెలుక తిరుగుతోంది.

ఊరికే ఉండకుండా చెట్టు ఎక్కి సింహం మీద దూకడం ప్రారంభించింది. సింహం ఊరుకున్నది. అయినా ఎలుక ఆగడాలకు, అల్లరికి తట్టుకోలేక తన పంజాతో పట్టుకుంది.
‘సింహరాజా.. మీరు నాలాంటి చిన్న జీవులను తినటం భావ్యం కాదు.
ఎవరైనా నవ్విపోదురు గాక’ అన్నది. ‘భళా.. మాటలు నేర్చిన చిట్టెలుకా’ అన్నది వ్యంగ్యంగా. ‘యువరాజా వారూ... చిట్టెలుకే కదా అని తక్కువ అంచనా వేయకండి.
ఇపుడు నా ప్రాణాలను వదిలేస్తే.. మీ ప్రాణాలూ ఎపుడోసారి కాపాడుతా’ అన్నది. ఈ మాటలు విని సింహం నవ్వుకుంది. ‘బతుకు జీవుడా’ అంటూ ఎలుకను వదిలేసింది.
జింకలను, ఏనుగులను పట్టాలంటే సింహం నుంచి తప్పించుకోవాలనే భయంగా మారింది ఓ ఇద్దరు వేటగాళ్లకు. ఈ భయం కాస్త ఎక్కువై ముందు అడవిలో సింహంను చంపేస్తే మిగతా పని సులువుఅని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు.
జింకలను, ఏనుగులను పట్టాలంటే సింహం నుంచి తప్పించుకోవాలనే భయంగా మారింది ఓ ఇద్దరు వేటగాళ్లకు. ఈ భయం కాస్త ఎక్కువై ముందు అడవిలో సింహంను చంపేస్తే మిగతా పని సులువుఅని నిర్ణయించుకున్నారు.
సింహం జాడలు ఎక్కడ ఉన్నాయి? ఎక్కడ నీళ్లు తాగుతుంది? ఇలా రెక్కీ చేశారు. సింహం జాడ కనుక్కుని వేటగాళ్లు వల పన్నారు. నీళ్లు తాగి ఇంటికి వెళ్లే సమయంలో ఆ వలలో చిక్కుకుపోయింది సింహం. గట్టిగా అరిచింది. వల చుట్టుకుంది.
ఆ క్షణంలో ఏమి చేయాలో అర్థంకాలేదు. ఇంతలో చిట్టెలుక.. తన పళ్లతో వలను కొరుకుతోంది. గట్టిగా అరవటంతో చిట్టెలుక స్నేహితులూ వచ్చారు. వలను కొరికేశారు. దూరంగా ఉండే వేటగాళ్లు రెండు నిముషాల్లో చెట్టు దిగి పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ వచ్చారు.
వల దగ్గరికొస్తూనే వేటగాళ్లు వలలోంచి దూకింది వేటగాళ్లపై. ఈ జీవితం చిట్టెలుక ఇచ్చిందే.. అనుకుని సిగ్గుపడింది. చిట్టెలుకకు ధన్యవాదాలు చెప్పింది.

One garland was made up of real flowers while the other garland was made up of not-real flowers.
“Which is true? Which is false?" asked the Queen.
Solomon was silent for a while. He saw some bees outside the window. They were sitting on the rose.
“Open the window," said the king to a servant.
The servant obeyed the order. The bees entered the room through the window. They sat upon the garland of real flowers.
Everybody now knew which the real garland was.
The Queen praised Solomon’s wisdom and returned to the room in peace.
