మెదడు లేని గాడిద – The brainless donkey – The Panchatantra short story in Telugu is a very funny story for kids and it is called “The brainless donkey”. It is a Telugu moral story about how a fox tricks and enjoys a meal which the lion has hunted.
ఒక అడవిలో ఒక సింహం ఉండేది. అది కాలక్రమేణా వయసు పైబడి ముసలిదై,వేటాడే శక్తి కూడా లేనిదై, రోజు ఆహారం ఎలా సంపాదించాలా అనే ఆలోచనలో పడింది. బాగా ఆలోచించి ఒక నక్కని పిలిచి, “నీ తెలివి తేటలు,చురుకుదనం గురించి చాలా విన్నాను.
నువ్వు నా ప్రధాన మంత్రిగా ఉండు. నాకు రోజూ ఆహారం సంపాదించే పని నీకే ఇస్తున్నాను,” అంది. అది విన్న నక్క, “చిత్తం మహారాజా! తప్పకుండా! ఈ రోజూనుంచి మీకు ఆహారం తెచ్చే పనినాదే,” అంటూ పొంగి పోయింది.
అదే పనిమీద నక్కఅడవిలోకొంత దూరం వచ్చి అక్కడ గడ్డి మేస్తున్న ఒక బలిసిన గాడిదనిచూసి “నిన్ను మన వనరాజు సింహం పిలుస్తోంది. నిన్ను తన మంత్రిగా నియమిస్తుందట,” అని చెప్పింది. గాడిద ఆశ్చర్యంగా, “నన్నా? ఎందుకు?” అని అడిగింది.
అదే పనిమీద నక్కఅడవిలోకొంత దూరం వచ్చి అక్కడ గడ్డి మేస్తున్న ఒక బలిసిన గాడిదనిచూసి “నిన్ను మన వనరాజు సింహం పిలుస్తోంది. నిన్ను తన మంత్రిగా నియమిస్తుందట,” అని చెప్పింది. గాడిద ఆశ్చర్యంగా, “నన్నా? ఎందుకు?” అని అడిగింది.
“నువ్వు కష్టపడి బాగా పనిచేస్తావు గదా, మంత్రిగానువ్వే ఉండాలిట. ముందు త్వరగా రా” అందినక్క.
గాడిద “సరే” అంటూ, నక్క వెంట వెళ్ళింది. గాడిద రావటం తోటే సింహం దానిపైకి ఎగబడింది. గాడిద బెదిరి పోయి పరుగు లంకించు కుంది. వెంటనే నక్క”స్వామి! మీరు దాన్నిభయపెట్టేశారు, మళ్ళీ ప్రయత్నించి , ఎలాగోలా తీసుకు వస్తా,” అని చెప్పి,ఎలాగో దాన్ని ఒప్పించి మళ్ళీ గాడిదని సింహం దగ్గరికి తీసుకువచ్చింది .
ఈ సారి సింహం గాడిదని చంపేసింది. నక్క మహా జిత్తుల మారి. పైగా మంచి ఆకలి మీద ఉంది. సింహంతో నక్కఇలా అంది, “రాజా ! నేను దీనికి కాపలాగా ఉంటాను.
గాడిద “సరే” అంటూ, నక్క వెంట వెళ్ళింది. గాడిద రావటం తోటే సింహం దానిపైకి ఎగబడింది. గాడిద బెదిరి పోయి పరుగు లంకించు కుంది. వెంటనే నక్క”స్వామి! మీరు దాన్నిభయపెట్టేశారు, మళ్ళీ ప్రయత్నించి , ఎలాగోలా తీసుకు వస్తా,” అని చెప్పి,ఎలాగో దాన్ని ఒప్పించి మళ్ళీ గాడిదని సింహం దగ్గరికి తీసుకువచ్చింది .

సింహం వస్తూనే, “నాఆహారాన్ని ఎవరు తిన్నారు? దాని మెదడేదీ?” అంటూ గట్టిగా గాండ్రించింది. నక్కతెలివిగా, “రాజా! గాడిదకు మెదడేదీ? మెదడే ఉంటే, ఆలోచించి మళ్ళీ మీ దగ్గరికి వచ్చేదా ?” అంది. దానితో సింహం “అంతే గదా” అనుకుంటూ ఆకలితీర్చుకో సాగింది.
Moral of the Panchatantra story in Telugu: నీతి: ఎల్లప్పుడూ దుష్టులకి దూరంగా ఉండాలి.

Day-6 Class 3-5 We Love Reading: English Story: The Farmer and the Well
One day, a farmer was looking for a water source for his farm, when he bought a well from his neighbour. The neighbour, however, was cunning. The next day, as the farmer came to draw water from his well, the neighbour refused to let him take any water.
When the farmer asked why, the neighbour replied, “I sold you the well, not the water,” and walked away. Distraught, the farmer went to the emperor to ask for justice. He explained what had happened.
The emperor called on Birbal, one of his nine, and wisest, courtiers. Birbal proceeded to question the neighbor, “Why don’t you let the farmer take water from the well? You did sell the well to the farmer?”
The neighbor replied, “Birbal, I did sell the well to the farmer but not the water within it. He has no right to draw water from the well.”
Birbal said, “Look, since you sold the well, you have no right to keep the water in the farmer’s well. Either you pay rent to the farmer, or take it out immediately.” Realizing that his scheme had failed, the neighbour apologized and went home.
Cheating will not get you anything. If you cheat, you’ll pay soon enough.
