Day-44 Class 3-5 We Love Reading: తెలుగు కథ : ఎవరు గొప్ప
ఒక అడవిలో ఏనుగు, కోతి, పులి, నక్క అనే జంతువులు ఉండేవి. అవి చాలా రోజుల నుంచి స్నేహంగా ఉండసాగాయి. కొద్ది రోజులు కలసి మెలసి ఆనందంగా గడిపాయి. అనుకోకుండా వాటిలో మార్పు వచ్చింది. ఏనుగు గర్వపడి నేనే గొప్ప దానిని నేను పెద్ద పెద్ద వృక్షాలను సైతం తొండంతో తుంచగలను. మీ అందరికంటే బలంగా ఉంటాను అని చెప్పింది ఏనుగు.
అప్పుడు పులి నేనే గొప్ప వాడిని నేను నీ కంటే పెద్దపెద్ద జంతువులను వేటాడగలను. నేను గాండ్రిస్తే మీలాంటి జంతువులన్నిటికి భయం కలుగుతుంది. కాబట్టి నేనే గొప్పవాడిని అంది. అప్పుడు కోతి నేను చెట్టు పైకి ఎక్కగలను, కొమ్మలెక్కి గంతులేయగలను, రుచికరమైన పండ్లను తింటాను కాబట్టి నేనే గొప్పవాడిని అంది.
నక్క తెలివిగా, మనందరిలో ఎవరు గొప్ప అని మనలో విభేదాలు వద్దు. మన రాజైన “సింహం" దగ్గరకి వెళితే ఎవరు గొప్పవారో ఆయనే తేలుస్తారు. మనమందరం రాజుగారి దగ్గరికి వెళ్లాం అంది.
సరేనని ఏనుగు, పులి, కోతి, నక్క రాజుగారి దగ్గరికి పోవడానికి బయలు దేరాయి. పోతూఉండగా దారిలో చీకటి పడింది. కటిక చీకటిలో జంతువులన్నీ భయపడసాగాయి. అప్పుడు పులి " మీకేం భయం లేదు, మీకు భయంగా ఉంటే చెప్పండి గాండ్రిస్తాను.
సరేనని ఏనుగు, పులి, కోతి, నక్క రాజుగారి దగ్గరికి పోవడానికి బయలు దేరాయి. పోతూఉండగా దారిలో చీకటి పడింది. కటిక చీకటిలో జంతువులన్నీ భయపడసాగాయి. అప్పుడు పులి " మీకేం భయం లేదు, మీకు భయంగా ఉంటే చెప్పండి గాండ్రిస్తాను.
ఆ శబ్దానికి ఏవి మన దరిచేరవు" అంది. రాత్రి అక్కడే బస చేసి ఉదయాన్నే ప్రయాణం ప్రారంభించాయి. దారిలో పెద్ద చెట్టు కొమ్మ విరిగిపడి దారికి అడ్డంగా ఉంది. అప్పుడు ఏనుగు తన తొండంతో విరిగిపడిన కొమ్మను ప్రక్కకు తీసింది. మిగిలిన జంతువులు సంతోషించి ముందుకు సాగాయి. దారిలో అన్ని జంతువులకు బాగా ఆకలేసింది.
సమీపంలో జామపండ్లచెట్టు కనిపించింది. ఆకలితో ఉన్న అన్ని జంతువులు ఆకలితీర్చుకోవాలనుకున్నాయి. కోతి ఆ జామపండ్లను కోసింది. ఆనందంగా తిని అన్ని జంతువులు ఒక దాని గొప్పతనం మరొకటి తెలుసుకొని “ఎవరి గొప్ప వారిదే” అని వెనుతిరిగాయి.
నక్క రాజుగారి దగ్గరికి వెళ్లామని ఇచ్చిన సలహా వల్లనే ఒకరి గొప్పదనం ఒకరు తెలుసుకొనే అవకాశం లభించినదని, నక్కను మెచ్చుకున్నాయి.

In a forest, there were elephants, monkeys, tigers, and jackals who had been friends for many days. They spent several days happily together, but suddenly a change occurred among them.
The elephant became proud, claiming, "I am so great that I can cut down even the biggest trees with my tusks. I will be stronger than all of you." The tiger countered, "I am great too.
I can hunt animals bigger than you, and my roar scares all animals like you. So, I am the greatest."
The monkey chimed in, "I am great because I can climb trees, hang from branches, and eat delicious fruits."
However, the wise fox suggesting them to approach their king, the lion, to settle the matter. All animals agreed and went to the lion. As the elephant, tiger, monkey and jackal set out towards the king, darkness fell along the way, making the animals scared.

The tiger assured them, saying, "You are not afraid, I protect you." They spent the night together and resumed their journey early the next morning.
On the way, they encountered an obstacle-a broken branch blocking their path. The elephant used its trunk to push aside the branch, making way for the other animals.
Hungry during the journey, they found a guava tree, and the monkey skillfully cut the guavas. After a satisfying meal, the animals realized each other's greatness and acknowledged the fox for suggesting the idea to visit their king.
They returned, appreciating the fox's advice for facilitating the chance to understand each other's strengths.
